Summer Camp 2006 - Scouthaven

My thoughts on Camp Cub Rock 2006 (Scouthaven)
Updated - July 13
Pack 816 went to summer camp for the first time (ever) last week and it was a lot of fun. I cant imagine a better run and organized camp. The boys were active and were engaged in every activity, from archary to bb-guns and nature lab to star gazing. From the early-bird swim to the evening camp fire - always something to do. Two words that were not heard "I'm bored"! We got lucky with the weather - perfect. Take a look at the photos! I am looking forward to next year's camp.

If the boys really liked a Staff member from camp, why not write them a letter and send it to camp? I saw how excited a staff member got when the received a letter. The address is in the Parent's Guide from camp. Rob sent two letters, one to Heather and another to Christina in the trading post. Other canditates could be Ross, Collin, Matt, Joe, Mike or anyone that you wish.

Tiger Cubs

Tiger Cubs is an exciting introduction to the scouting program for first grade boys (or 7 years old) excited to get going! Tiger Cubs do stuff - lots of stuff - with their adult partners. This program is intended to open up the world to inquisitive minds along with the caring guidance of adults. The first steps along the Boy Scout Trail are laid here and every rank advancement through the scouting program builds on the basic categories of activity done as tigers.

The Tiger Cub program runs on two levels. The scout and his adult partner meet weekly to do activities centered around the family. Then, the scout and adult partner meet with the rest of the tiger den to fulfill Den Activity and Go See It requirements.

A little Tiger Trivia:
For a few years, up until 2001, the Tiger Cubs had their own promise to memorize. That has been discontinued and they use the Cub Scout promise now.

Tiger Cub Promise:
I promise to love God, my family and my country,
and to learn about the world.
